We booked a tour combing the Sacred Valley with Machu Picchu, and today we visited two sites in the Sacred Valley, Pisaq and Ollantaytambo. Pisaq is a picturesque town that is famous for its Inca ruins, the most complete after Machu Picchu, and its Sunday handicraft and food market- we tried the corn.
After lunch, we explored the terraces of the Inca structure in Ollantaytambo.
After our tour was done we stayed in town to have dinner and then boarded our train to Aguas Calientes, the village closest to Machu Picchu.
We arrived at 9pm during an impressive rainstorm and went to bed early in preparation for our day tomorrow.
