Day 317 San Cristobal Island 18 December 2012

The day started out with a Los Lobos Island walk where we saw many marine iguanas and (baby) blue footed boobies.

Then we sailed to the Kicker Rock and had a snorkeling adventure, first around the rock and then through the channel in the middle. We saw huge sea urchins, colorful starfish, tropical fish, sharks (50+ and on the move) and a fin whale from 20 meters away!

On San Cristobal Island we visited the Interpretation Center where we learned about the unique biology and human history of the islands.  A short walk lead us to Darwin hill, the point where Darwin first set foot on the Galapagos Islands.

Before leaving the island we enjoyed a beach swim shared with some sea lions.
