Today we arrived at Baltra airport in the Galapagos Islands and waited for our cruise companions. A bus and a life boat brought us to our yacht, the Encantada, our home for the next 6 days.
After lunch we set off to Bachas Beach on Santa Cruz where we experienced our first taste of Galapagos wildlife. It was amazing! We saw hundreds of giant red crabs (Sally Lightfoot Crabs), pelicans, our first blue footed boobies (the symbol of the islands), some Darwin finches, a flamingo flying, a couple of marine iguanas, many rays, and several giant sea turtles swimming close to the shore.
Back at the beach we snorkeled from the shore for about an hour before we returned to the Encantada where we had dinner and then went straight to bed in our cabin.
