Today we took a tour of the Cameron Highlands countryside, the tourist thing to do here. We started at the whimsical Rose Garden,
then continued to a magnificent black tea plantation,
followed by a strawberry farm, where we had a taste of strawberry ice cream.
Proof of the freezing temperatures (23C/73F).
After visiting a bee farm,
our last stop was at a butterfly and insect farm, where we saw some amazing butterflies and huge creepy crawlers.
After returning to our village we had some Dutch style “Chinese rijsttafel”, at a restaurant with a particular Chinese owner (sitting behind us) who spoke Dutch perfectly since he had lived in the Netherlands for 16 years.
