Day 203 Crater Lakes 26 August 2012

We woke up in what can only be described as an elderly camp site! Their motto was “In your dreams, you’re never 80!” After shopping and a gas stop we took a trip to the hinterlands where we saw Lake Barrine lake part of Crater Lakes National Park in the Atherton Tablelands.

 Then we headed onto Lake Eacham where we spotted some turtles and then went for a swim in the cool lake water.

In Yungaberra we passed a Platypus (or as Martijn says it Pilatus Paf ) viewing site where we were lucky to spot one.

We arrived at our campsite for the night rather early and set out to make dinner on the barbeque- it took over an hour to make penne Bolognese with zucchinis/courgettes and onions- but it was worth the wait!
