Day 194 Never Smile at a Crocodile 17 August 2012

After an excellent breakfast at our hostel, one of the reasons we booked this hostel over others, we headed out to Crocosaurs Cove.
We got to meet an Aussie Superstar- Bert! He is the 5.1meter/16.7feet long, 700kg/1543lbs heavy, 80year old confirmed bachelor from the classic 1980s movie Crocodile Dundee.

Here we had a day of reptiles! We saw crocodiles chomp down on raw chicken!

We also had an opportunity to pose with a Northern Blue Tongue lizard,
 a Central Bearded Dragon,

 and an Olive Python.

Ana had a moment of weakness when the python (about the length of Martijn) decided to try to make eye contact!
We got to feed adolescent crocodiles raw meat hanging from a fishing pole. These little ones were already remarkably strong!
We also got to hold a baby crocodile- they are cute and quite soft to touch on their belly (the rest is what you expect- hard and like a crocodile skin purse!).
Ana prepared a feast of Pumpkin Cream soup, three flavors of tuna sandwiches, and raspberry yogurt (notice how everything came in a can or tub!) for Martijn back at the hostel.

The only reason Ana volunteered to cook was because that meant Martijn would have to wash (it’s an unspoken house-rule that applies during travel).
