Day 222 Sydney 14 September 2012

After a quick repair of the side mirror by the mechanic in the morning we still had enough time to explore Sydney.

Upon advice of Mosca we took the ferry from Manly to Sydney, that took us right around the Sydney Opera House.

After enjoying a Japanese filled pancake for lunch we walked around the Rocks, the historical quarters of central Sydney.

We made our way across the Sydney Harbor Bridge that gave us a great view of the city.

Last stop of our walk through town was the Opera House, before we took the ferry back.

In the evening we were spoiled to a barbecue and a place to stay by Mosca’s parents, Eleni and John.

Day 221 See you later, Mosca, Steve and Dan! 13 September 2012

After a long farewell we left Mosca’s apartment and headed for Sydney.

When we took off after a stop to look at the map –to figure out which way to go to our caravan park, our right side mirror was ripped off by a bicyclist’s backpack. After the initial shock - the bicyclist and bike were ok, and besides the missing mirror, no damage was done, we continued on our way to the caravan park and wait until tomorrow to figure out how fix it.

Day 220 More relaxing in Newcastle 12 September 2012

We spent another nice day at Mosca, Steve and Dan’s. We walked to the baths along the beach, and visited their new house.

In the evening we had some fish and chips and learned the tradition of eating Tim Tams, where you suck milk through the cookies until saturated and then take a big bite, fun guaranteed!

Day 219 Relaxing in Newcastle 11 September 2012

We spent our second day with Mosca, Steve and Dan, by walking around Newcastle,
  playing with Dan,

baking a cake
and being treated to a true Australian barbecue, with kangaroo sausage!

Day 218 Mosca, Steve and Baby Dan in Newcastle 10 September 2012

We arrived for lunch at the riverfront residence of Mosca, Steve and Baby Dan! We had lunch and then walked along the harbor and went to the park- all the time enjoying each other’s company.

We enjoyed a night of luxury in their lovely guestroom!

Day 217 Driving to Forster 9 September 2012

In the morning we visited Smoky Cape Lighthouse . Then we drove along the Great Lakes Way to Forster.

At Forster we made a stop a McDonald’s to use the free internet and Skype home.

Day 216 Relaxation and History 8 September 2012

We walked along the beach. To the point where Martijn's finger is pointing-and back!

We visited the Gaol which is Australian for jail. It was built for second time offenders who were brought up to Trail Bay to build a break in the sea. However progress was slow and it was not used a lot.
We also enjoyed the amenities at our campsite (a huge jumping pillow, pool, and miniature golf)- they cater for kids and kids at heart!

A dinner of lentils, rice, feta and spinach, with jell-o for dessert, was made in the camp kitchen-the kangaroos were jealous.
