Day 239 Driving Day 1 October 2012

Today we set out for yet another long scenic drive after we had tasted some venison (deer) pie.

 

Even though Haast is not too far from Milford Sound we had to drive all around the wilderness in between, which took us all day(8 hours).

 

 

 

 

But on long drive days we have a system- raisins, chocolate covered raisins, hummus and corn chips along with water, sandwiches and bathroom stops and trading driving duties every two hours. 

When we finally arrived we had dinner and headed out to Haast Beach to catch a beautiful sunset over an incredibly rough Tasman Sea.
